Revamped Jewellery is a social enterprise run entirely by volunteers with the goal of creating an income stream for charities that support women and families.
In December 2013 we opened a boutique in Mornington, Victoria selling jewellery donated by the public and since then have donated over $60,000 to charity. We are located at Bentons Square Community Centre on Tuesdays from 10.00am to 3.00pm during school terms.
The generosity of the public has enabled us to make substantial donations to local charities including Community Centres on the Peninsula, local Good Shepherd Foundation women's refuges and Mothers Supporting Families in Need as well as many other smaller local charities. We also occasionally have pop up style stalls, the proceeds of which are donated straight to the host charity.
All this has been made possible by the donation of unwanted or unused jewellery. We happily receive everything from a broken necklace or a single earring right through to a piece of value.
Once the jewellery is donated, we either revamp, recreate or simply clean and resell each piece depending on it's condition. We have a huge range of rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets both vintage and contemporary. Gold and silver jewellery is valued by Allan the Jeweller in Mornington and sold at half valued price.
It is often commented on that the prices we put on the jewellery are too low and this has been deliberate on our part to create fast turnover and to give back to the community that supports us.
We are passionate about helping families and women to give them the best possible opportunity to live fulfilling and happy lives.
